GLAMA Values

We Will Take Care of Each Other

Community

GLAMA deeply values community and the betterment of the world through art. We explicitly affirm the guidance, knowledge, and support that have been provided by systems of community care since time immemorial, especially by Black, Indigenous, and Communities of color and trans and LGBTQ sex workers. We acknowledge the importance of a community that is interdependent, accessible, and empowering and fosters a true sense of belonging and love.

Authenticity

Authenticity encourages everyone to show up exactly as they are and recognizes the never ending possibility for learning and growth. In authenticity there is space for messiness and complexity, and the beauty and rawness that is being fully human. We value the relationships, art, and support that allows for everyone to be and become the truest version of ourselves.

Kindness

We are committed to community, equity, and authenticity because we are committed to kindness. We believe that kindness is a serious and purposeful effort to treat everyone with dignity, honesty, and generosity. We believe that radical kindness opens up space for complex and conflicting thoughts and feelings to see the light of day. It acknowledges the existence of different lived experiences before finding a shared way forward with equality and compassion at the forefront. We believe that unconditional kindness and compassion will fundamentally change the world.

Equity

Equity is the foundation of a prosperous community. GLAMA recognizes the racist roots of non-profits, as well as the systemic oppression that exists in the music and arts community. As an organization we are committed to the creation of a world where all people have full and unbiased access to livelihood, support, and creative expression. In order to make equity a reality, GLAMA will actively engage in an overdue redistribution of wealth, opportunity and resources.
